Digital Detox Report
“Digital Detox: The Need for Early Intervention in Moderating Digital Media Usage among Adolescents” In March 2021, our founder Aaraynaa researched and wrote an extensive report outlining the need for a greater awareness of issues related to excessive digital use amongst children and adolescents. Global Digital Annual Women’s Economic Forum
On December 15th 2021, our founder Aaraynaa hosted a 15 minute speech on the topic of Digital Detoxing under the theme of ‘Youth and Social Media,’ where she spoke about social media usage amongst teens, the impact of its excessive use, and steps we can take to work towards detoxing from social media, and wider digital reliance, in our daily lives.
Digital Detox Survey
In April 2022, in an effort to understand more about the digital habits of teenagers, we developed and distributed an original online survey to students at Nord Anglia International, Dubai. We received approximately 500 responses, which the Digital Detox team at Nord Anglia has been able to use in order to further ideate and implement activities to help students build healthier relationships with technology and their digital devices.
Digital Detox Day, Nord Anglia International, Dubai
On July 30th, 2022, the Digital Detox Team successfully facilitated a school-wide digital detox day at Nord Anglia, where students and staff went without wifi for the duration of a school day. Students instead focused on offline learning and activities, and the day was a huge success!
Our founder Aaraynaa also led a moral education lesson for an hour at Nord Anglia in May 2022, speaking in front of 2400 students about the digital detox project and how we can improve our own safety and health with regards to online habits.
Digital Detox & Nord Anglia Global Campus
In May 2022, Aaraynaa was invited to speak about the Digital Detox initiative as part of the Nord Anglia Global Campus, catering to 120,000 students world wide. Her talk focused on the project, the importance of being mindful about our online habits and the effect they have on us, as well as strategies that can be implemented to help any students or teenagers who might be struggling.
